Titanic expedition reveals first wreck images in 5 years
Toronto, Aug 29 (ANI): An expedition surveying the wreck of the Titanic has revealed some interesting images of the doomed ocean liner.
A pair of robots has been used to take thousands of photographs and hours of video of the wreck, which lies around four kilometres below the surface, reports the Globe and the Mail.
The hi-resolution images include shots of the ship bow, clearing showing the railing and anchors.
An expedition spokesman said they're the first images of the ship taken in over five years.
Members of the expedition have described the robots being used as the "the great-great-grandchildren" of the equipment that first explored the Titanic in 1985.
Titanic sank into the Atlantic after hitting an iceberg in 1912 and as many as 1,522 passengers and crew died in the disaster. (ANI)
