Bus falls into pond, 10 people die in West Bengal

Coochbehar, Aug 29: Ten people were killed and many injured when a bus overturned and fell into a pond in Coochbehar district of West Bengal on Sunday, Aug 29.

The bus fell into the pond at around 1pm in Dewanhat village and later 10 bodies were brought out from the bus. The dead included a school girl studying in class IX.

Police officials told that four bodies were taken to Coochbehar MJN Hospital and two others were taken to Dinhata sub-divisional hospital. Four other bodies were still lying at the spot.

"The number of injured is still unclear as rescue operations were continuing," said a police official.
