Pak firing: Troops bring situation under control
The security forces, which surrounded the government building near the US consulate in the northwestern city after the firing broke out early on Saturday, Aug 28 morning, have now cornered three gunmen.
A large number of security forces have been deployed around the spot, reported Xinhua, adding that helicopters have also been deployed to monitor the development.
The firing began at around 5 am after a low-intensity blast as the gunmen tried to break into the intelligence building near the American consulate in Shama chowk area.
So far no casualties have been reported.
The US consulate building has not been affected by the attack in any way.
