CPI(M) bandh hits normal life in Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 28: After the Trinamool Congress allegedly attack the CPI(M) activists, the party went on strike on Saturday, Aug 28.

Normal life was affected in large parts of south Kolkata specially Office-goers as transports were seriously disrupted.

Shops, markets and business establishments remained closed at Santoshpur, Baghajatin and Kasba area, officials said.

At least 22 people, including a CPI(M) MLA and a Trinamool Congress councillor, were injured on Friday, Aug 27, in a clash during a borough election under Kolkata Corporation.

Armed police force and Rapid Action Force personnel are patrolling the bandh-hit areas to prevent any further violence. said the police.
