'Avoid N Korea, not many ex-prez left for rescue'

United States
Washington, Aug 28: In a rather witty and cheeky message, the United States has reminded people to heed the advisory against travelling to North Korea mentioning that there are not many former presidents left for rescue missions.

In a Twitter post, State Department spokesman PJ Crowley said, “Americans should heed our travel warning and avoid North Korea. We only have a handful of former presidents."

Mr Crowley's tweet came in the backdrop of former US president Jimmy Carter securing the release of an American prisoner, Aijalon Gomes, who had been detained in North Korea for crossing the border into the communist country illegally.

The State Department spokesperson's statement also refers to the Aug 2009 rescue mission of ex-President Bill Clinton, who had to travel to North Korea to free two journalists, who were also detained there for cross the border illegally as well.
