TN: Dad kills girl for having too many boyfriends

Chennai, Aug 27: In a horrifying case of honour killing, a father in Madurai killed his 18-year-old daughter over her “promiscuous ways".

The father, Rangasamy, hired three goons namely Murthy, Velmurugan and Balu to snuff out his daughter, Mari Selvi, to guard the honour of his family, which she was scaring with alleged multiple love affairs and by having too many boyfriends.

One of the goons, Balu, who was working as a compounder in the Government Rajaji Hospital, administered a lethal dose of a 'poisonous injection' on Tuesday, Aug 24, reported Deccan Herald.

According to the police complaint lodged by the girl's mother, Rangaswamy was watching Balu thrust the poisonous fluid into Mari Selvi "through a window".

Police arrested all the four accused on Wednesday, Aug 25 night. Quoting sources, the newspaper report said that the culprits have been remanded to judicial custody and are in Madurai central jail.

Police on Thursday, Aug 26 told the media that the investigations into the case are on.
