Obama's approval rating increases four points to 48 percent

Washington, Aug 27(ANI): Fewer than half of Americans approve of the job President Barack Obama is doing, but his approval rating is slightly up since last month, a new poll has revealed.

According to a new CBS News poll, Obama's approval rating has inched up to 48 percent from 44 percent last month.

Obama's approval rating rose even as a majority of Americans, 75 percent, said that the economy is in a recession.

The President also continues to receive net negative ratings on his handling of the economy - the nation's top concern.

Forty-eight percent disapprove of his handling of it, while 44 percent approve.

On the specific issues asked about in the poll, Obama received his highest approval rating on his handling of Iraq, in which he got an approval rating of 52 percent.

His overall job approval rating has remained below 50 percent since April. (ANI)
