WB: Maoist surrenders under govt's rehab plan
Shobhan Karak, a hardcore Maoist, surrendered with arms at the district Police Lines.
He has 13 cases of murder and sedition registered against him.
Karak surrendered before the West Midnapore Superintendent of Police, Jhargram Superintendent of Police and central Reserve Police Force IG.
"I was a member of Sidhu Soren's squad. I was forced to join the squad as the Maoists threatened to kill my family members," said Karak.
"We will make a fixed deposit of 1.5 lakh in his name for three years and refer the case to rehabilitation committee," said police sources.
