Levi Johnston as Wasilla mayor?

Washington, Aug 24 (ANI): Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol's ex-fiance Levi Johnston has announced that he is running for office in Alaska.

According to TMZ, Johnston, 20, filed his letter of intent on August 20 with the Alaska Public Offices Commission, Politico reported.But the documents filed did not specify which office he intends to run for, he has only written that he "intends to be a candidate in the city of Wasilla 2011 election".He had previously admitted to shopping a reality show about his run for mayor of Wasilla.

The next mayoral election for the city is on October 4, 2011, and each term lasts three years.

With the appropriate papers filed, Johnston is free to do all things associated with a campaign, including accepting monetary contributions.

The potential TV show, "Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office," is currently being pitched to several cable channels. (ANI)
