Regrouped terrorists creating "parallel system of governance" in Pak flood hit areas
Peshawar, Aug 23(ANI): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has called for immediate action against terrorists regrouping in the province.
"Terrorists are joining the flood victims. They are posing as flood affectees and regrouping in the flood-hit areas," The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying.
The Minister said that that the province might have to face dangerous consequences, as the terrorists had been trying to create a "parallel system of governance".
He also highlighted last Tuesday's incident in which over 200 extremists from Khyber, one of the areas in the province believed to be the Taliban's sanctuary, clashed with security personnel.
Hussain further accused the federal government of ignoring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite the fact that the province has been badly affected by the floods.
"If the federal government does not listen to us, the provincial government will adopt a tough stance," he added. (ANI)
