New Delhi, Aug 23: Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in New Delhi, on Aug 23, discussed with Manmohan Singh about the various projects facing delays in the state.

After facing hit from the centre over mining projects in his state, Patnaik raised concerns over the delay in environment clearances to projects like the Posco steel project and Vedanta bauxite mining initiative.

"I discussed about Posco and told Prime Minister that work ought not be stopped," he said.

Discussing about Korean steel giant Posco's multi-crore project in Orissa, Patnaik said, "The PM said that he would certainly see that this matter is taken up and give a push to the project. He said it should be expedited."

The chief minister also informed that he would meet Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh and they would discuss about the Vedanta's bauxite mining project.

Patnaik went to meet PM as the Environment Ministry appointed Committee remarked adversely on Posco and Vedanta projects in Orissa.
