Iran launches new long-range bomber drone

The new drone, Karar, can carry bombs to destroy targets at a high speed. The drone was painted in military-green with the words 'Bomber jet' written on its side. The Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi described Karar as a symbol of the versatility and advancement of Iran's defence industries.
Iran's state television channel broadcast the unveiling of the new drone by President and later it showed the flying of the drone. Ahmadinejad made a speech at the ceremony, held in a hall of Tehran's Malek Ashtar University.
The unveiling of Karar, the nickname of Imam Ali, the first Shiite imam, comes two days after Iran test fired a domestically built surface-to-surface missile, Qiam.
