Heavy rains lash NE region

Guwahati, Aug 21: Heavy rains poured all over the NE region of the country on Friday, Aug 20.

Some parts of the Assam were flooded and houses were displaced, said the source.

Most places over Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram and Tripura (NMMT) and many places over Arunachal Pradesh are expected to receive more rainfall during the next 48 hours, said Deputy Director General Meteorology (DDGM) of the RMC Haragovinda Pathaksaid Pathak.

Reports further said year 2010 has received maximum amount of rainfall in all the states.
