Bhojpuri actress alleges casting couch

Mumbai, Aug 21: In a case of casting couch a Bhojpuri film actress, Ritu Pandey, has alleged that casting director Vansh Pathak had on Friday, Aug 20 asked her to 'compromise' with him.

Police has registered a case of non-cognisable (NC) offence after the actress approached them accusing Pathak of sending her objectionable text messages asking her to 'compromise' with him to get a career boost.

"I asked him for roles in films. However, ever since I met him at Goregaon, he has been asking me to 'compromise' with him. Otherwise, he says, he would ruin my career," said Pandey, who has reportedly acted in 15 Bhojpuri films.

She said that she met the casting director through a common friend.

Senior inspector Avinash Sawant at Kanakia police station said that Pathak would be called for questioning.

The police is currently investigating into the actress' claims and would be filing an FIR against the accused after a preliminary inquiry, if necessary.
