Paterson, Ground-Zero mosque developer meeting this week: King
Washington, Aug 18 (ANI): New York Governor David Paterson will be meeting with the developer and leader of the ground zero-area mosque project later this week to discuss the possibility of moving it to an alternate site, according to Republican Peter King's camp.
Paterson rang King because the congressman did a radio spot with WOR's John Gambling in which he indicated that the governor's push for an alternate location made the most sense, the aide said.
Politico quoted the aide as saying that it was unclear how the mosque developers would feel about the governor's attempts.
Paterson spokesman Morgan Hook told the website: "We are working with the developers on a staff level, but there have not been any formal discussions between the governor and imam or developer.
However, we expect to have a meeting scheduled in the near future." (ANI)
