Srinagar, Aug 18 (ANI): Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have imposed curfew in Srinagar and many other parts of the Kashmir Valley to foil a march call given by separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. The protest march or 'Chalo to HMT Zainakote' was to be held eight kilometers out of Srinagar.

Several separatist groups have extended support to the march-cum-rally, which aims to protest against the killing of innocents in the valley.

The local administration and police authorities have sealed all roads leading to Zainakote.

Security personnel have been deployed on the route lined by barbed wires and barricades.

Markets wore a deserted look with shops and business establishments in the area rolling down their shutters.

Police said, Geelani has been placed under house arrest since Tuesday. By Faiyaz (ANI)
