Manila: 35 die in bus accident

Manila, Aug 18: At least 35 people died when a packed bus plunged off a mountain highway into a valley in Manila, said the police.

The bus was carrying 47 people, and the driver survived with a broken leg.

Police chief Wilben Mayor of Benguet province north of Manila said eight other passengers, including a 10-year-old have been saved in the accident.

Reports said, it was due to brake failure as the driver was driving a downhill curve.
