Peshawar, Aug.17 (ANI): The floods in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region have brought with itself the risk of people getting injured by unexploded bombs and other explosives which were left back during the anti-militant operation in the region.

Several incidents have been reported from the Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts in the last few days where people have been injured by floating explosive devices.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) three children were injured in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday by a home-made bomb which detonated when one of them touched it.

The ICRC said that the explosive devices, which were until now stuck in the ground, were moved by the gush of floodwaters, and were now posing a threat to the people of the region.

Booby traps, bombs, landmines and other live ordinance, which were used during the military offensive against extremists are now posing a great risk to the life of public, The Dawn reports. (ANI)
