19 killed in China firework explosion

Beijing, Aug 17: 19 people were killed and 153 had been injured in an explosion at a firework in China on Monday, Aug 16.

According to sources, five people were still missing after the explosion in Yichun city.

The blast caused a shock wave felt up to five km away and prompted the evacuation of more than 2,000 residents.

A downpour had flooded a warehouse at the site and the blast occurred when workers were moving fireworks out of the building, sources said.
