HuJI militant held in Assam

Shillong, Aug 16: The BSF in Dhubri district of Assam arrested a Harkat-Ul-Jihad-Al Islami (HuJI) militant on Sunday, Aug 15, when he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh, officials said.

One revolver, two mobile handsets and many SIM cards were also seized from him.

BSF spokesman Ravi Gandhi said that the militant is identified as Abdual salam alias Sahidul, was caught at Golokganj in the wee hours.

"A resident of Jatrapur in Kurigram district of Bangladesh, the HuJI militant had crossed the border for some specific task," Ravi added.

Dhubri Superintendent of Police Deepak Choudhury said that the militant's joint interrogation was on by the police and BSF.
