BJP criticizes PM over his Independence day speech

New Delhi, Aug 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed its disappointment over Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh's speech on the 63rd Independence day in Red Fort on Sunday, Aug 15.

"His speech was mere cut and paste job," said BJP leader.

The leader also included, " PM either did not receive directives from the top or he has lost interest in his job."

"A nation expects a lot from the prime minister's Independence Day speech. But the speech was lackluster, directionless and visionless," said BJP spokesperson, Rajeev Pratap Rudy.

BJP frequently slammed Singh as a weak PM and stated that the main power lies in hands of UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi.

Rudy claimed that Singh did not properly discuss about the burning issues of the country like Kashmir, price rise and international relations in his speech.

"It was a dismal display by the prime minister," Rudy added.
