Pak police claim senior Balochistan National Party leader's killers' arrest
Quetta, Aug 14 (ANI): The Pakistan police have arrested two men alleged to have been involved in the July 14 assassination of Balochistan Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Habib Jalib Baloch.
The police also recovered pistols, a Kalashnikov and a motorcycle allegedly used in carrying out the assassination from the two men identified as Hijaz Ahmed and Muneer Ahmed.
Provincial Police Officer Malik Iqbal disclosed that both the men were relatives and neighbours of the late BNP leader, and he had been murdered over personal enmity.
"Several organisations claimed responsibility to divert the attention of law enforcement agencies, but the investigation teams under the supervision of CCPO Quetta Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh inspected the case from several angles," The Daily Times quoted Iqbal, as saying.
"The arrested accused also gave two more names of men they say were also involved in killing Jalib," he added.
Jalib was shot outside his residence situated in Musa Colony of the provincial capital by two men.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. (ANI)
