Will not be a mediator between India and RIM: US

Washington, Aug 14: United States stated that it will not mediate between Blackberry maker Research In Motion (RIM) and the Indian Government.

"While we have been in touch with our foreign partners, this is a matter for RIM to work out directly with Indian officials," said State Department in a statement.

On Friday, Aug 13 India threatened to shut down Blackberry e-mail and instant messaging services by Aug 31, unless RIM granted security agencies the technology to decrypt Blackberry communications.

Later RIM officials told that it will provide a technical solution for issues related to the security concerns.
