Mumbai oil spill, biggest ever in India: Jairam
On Saturday, Aug 14 Jairam Ramesh along with Maharashtra Environment Minister Suresh Shetty inspected the oil spill affected areas. Later he held a review meeting to discuss the situation.
The minister told that the mangroves along the coast have been damaged extensively dur to the spill and only some of them will be able to regenerate.
Two Panamanian cargo ships, namely MSC Chitra and MV Khalijia-111, collided on Saturday, Aug 7 off the Mumbai coast caused oil spill and made massive environmental hazard.
