Madani's arrest: Tension prevails in Kollam

Kollam, Aug 14: Tensions prevailed in Kollam district of Kerala after the Kerala government stating that the Karnataka Police team will arrest PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani.

Hundreds of PDP workers including women and children gathered in Anwarsheri, where Madani resides, ahead of his arrest. Forces have been deployed to curb the protesting mob.

Kollam Police Superintendent imposed 'Section 144' around Madani's home.

On Friday, Aug 13 Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told that Madani's arrest will be executed by Karnataka police at an appropriate time after the ongoing visit of President Pratibha Patil in the state. He also told that the Karnataka government asked for help of the state for arresting Madani.
