Jammu Kashmir: 1 killed in Kupwara firing

Srinagar, Aug 13: One person was killed and several others were injured in firing by security forces in Jammu Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday, Aug 13.

According to the media sources the incident happened in Trehgam when a group of protestors pelted stones at police personnel resulting in firing.

Later the forces opened fire to disperse protesters at Tergham in Kupwara in which two others have been injured.

Police said Muddasar Ahmed, who was injured in the firing, was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

However, curfew has been imposed in the area to maintain law and order in the region.
