Hindi may become one of the UN official languages
"India is making all its efforts to push the case of the national language at the appropriate level," said SM Krishna on Thursday, Aug 12.
"India is consistently lobbying with other countries to seek their support for Hindi. Efforts are being undertaken with Non- Resident Indians (NRIs) to garner support for greater recognition of Hindi as an international language," Krishna said.
"The UN is producing a weekly programme in Hindi which is available on the organisation"s website and also broadcast on All India Radio," later he added.
