Govt gives 19 days deadline to BlackBerry

New Delhi, Aug 12: India government asked BlackBerry to provide solutions over the security concerns by Tuesday, Aug 31.

Government gave a deadline of 19 days to fix the issues. Government will review the situations and ban on BlackBerry messenger and e-mail service after Aug 31.

On Thursday, Aug 12, government held a crucial meeting to fix the deadline for RIM to share encryption details. But RIM skipped the meeting and later the RIM officials met Home Minister P Chidambaram to discuss the situation.

Indian government asked RIM that it's encrypted email and other data services must be readable by security services.
