AP headmistress burns students with firewood, held

Warangal (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 12: The headmistress of a government school here has been sent to a 15 day judicial remand for punishing 11 students with a burning firewood meant for cooking mid-day meal.

The headmistress of government primary school at Jamandlapally village, Sruthi Keerthi, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug 11 after being suspended. She was later produced in a local court in Mahabubabad town which ordered 15 day judicial custody.

The headmistress has been booked under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
