Jammu Kashmir landslide kills pilgrim, injures 7
Kishtwar, Aug 10: As rescue and relief operations in cloudburst-hit Leh continued, heavy rains triggered a landslide here on Monday, Aug 9 evening killing a person and injuring seven others.
Officials on Tuesday, Aug 10 said that the landslide occurred at Massu, about 280 kms from Jammu, in Kishtwar district, where a group of eight pilgrims, on their way to Machail Mata, came under the debris.
The deceased has been identified as Romesh Kumar. The seven others injured have been admitted to Primary Health Center at Atholi.
The pilgrims were on their way to the Chandi Mata Machail yatra, which begins on Tuesday, Aug 10 in the mountainous Paddar in Kishtwar district.
