Govt. plans interlinking of police stations
New Delhi, Aug.10 (ANI): The Government has plans to inter-link all police stations and prisons in the country.
Minister of State for Home Shri Ajay Maken in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, said: "The Government has proposal to inter-link all the police stations and prisons in the country."
"With the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) Project, which is proposed to be implemented as a Mission Mode Project, about 14000 Police Stations and 6000 other police offices at various levels would be connected through a computer network," the minister informed. He also informed that under CCTNS Project, select police stations in the country are proposed to be provided with Finger Print Reader/Enrolment Facility. (ANI)
