Security forces seize huge cache of arms in Rajouri in Kashmir

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 7 (ANI): Security forces have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions from a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri District.

The Indian Army personnel conducted the joint operation on Thursday in assistance with the State's Special Operations Group (SOG) and the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

On Thursday evening, the SOG, Army and the CRPF launched a joint operation in the area falling under the Manjakote Police station. The recovery was made on Friday morning," said Farooq Kaiser, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations), Rajouri Range.

The cache of arms included AK 47 rifles.

"After we detected, we recovered four pistols, two Pakistan-made, two Chinese, ammunition AK 370 rounds ammunition pistol, 45 rounds ammunition pica, 84 rounds magazine AK-6, UBGL, 14 grenade, five hand grenades, anti-tank rifle grenades, M060," said Abdul Rehman, Station House Officer, Thanna Police Station.

"We also recovered two detonators with wire, mine anti-clay bore, one binocular, one pocket tape recorder, one IED switch, assembly one, four cloth bags, these are the things that we recovered," he added.

Earlier on August1, the security forces seized a similar huge cache of arms, which included 30 kilograms of RDX, from a militant hideout in Rajouri District. (ANI)
