Karat criticises Centre for poor food management
Vijayawada, Aug 7 (ANI): Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Prakash Karat on Saturday charged the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre for, what he called poor food management policies.
During the three-day Extended Central Committee (ECC) meeting being held at Vijayawada, Karat said the Left has been demanding food security for the poor since long.
Criticising the Central Government, he said : "What they are ensuring is food safety for rats."
The Extended Central Committee (ECC) meetings were primarily held to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls in West Bengal.
Prakash Karat also criticised the Nuclear Liability Bill considered important for starting nuclear commerce between India and international community. (ANI)
