Motorola phones for lesser price than MRP

New Delhi, Aug 6: Just days after their launch, Motorola India has informed that the newly launched XT720 Milestone and Backflip will be available for much lower prices than the MRP.

Motorola India launched XT720 Milestone and the Backflip smartphones in last week of Jul 2010. The announcement comes less than a week after their release.

The XT720, which comes at an MRP of Rs. 34,990 can be bought for around Rs. 27,490 (the Recommended Retail Price, as informed by Motorola). The phone also comes with an 8GB memory card and HDMI cable (this was available earlier as well). Similarly, the Backflip, which has an MRP of Rs. 22,990, can be yours for around Rs. 19,490. The Backflip comes with a 2GB memory card in the box.

Analysts report that change of the prices was due to the intense competition in the smartphone market.
