Five die, several injured in road accident in Uttar Pradesh

Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 6 (ANI): At least five people died and several others were injured when a speeding bus hit the tractor-trolley in which they were traveling in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor District on Friday.

The accident took place in Khanpur village when Kanwarias along with others were traveling in a tractor trolley towards holy city of Haridwar and a speeding bus hit them.

"They were on a tractor trolley going towards Haridwar when an empty Roadways bus came in speed and rammed into it and this tragedy took place," said S.B.Tiwari, Additional District Magistrate of Bijnor.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Authorities said the tragedy could have been worse if the bus had been carrying any passengers. By Sarfaraz (ANI)
