Canada comes to the rescue of RIM over BlackBerry
Ottawa, Aug 6: With its largest tech exporter entangled in a row over BlackBerry security concerns in several countries, an anxious Canada has stepped in to the rescue of Research in Motion (RIM).
Canada has said it is talking to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to resolve the row over BlackBerry security.
Saudi Arabia was set to ban BlackBerry Messenger function on Friday, Aug 6 if RIM failed to reach an agreement with the government.
Besides Saudi Arabia, BlackBerry has been facing flak in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and in India over the security threat it poses due to its encrypted content.
