26/7 blast mastermind escapes to Pak: Hasibarza
Ahmedabad, Aug 4: Hasibarza Sayyed, an alleged active Students Islamic Movement of India's (Simi) member who was arrested by Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Jul 12, 2010 has revealed to the investigating agency that Tauqeer had fled to Pakistan.
The mastermind of the Ahmedabad serial bomb blast, Abdul Subbhan Qureshi alias Tauqeer, has allegedly escaped to Pakistan.
Hasibarza Sayeed had allegedly told the DCB that he had arranged the logistics and provided all the help needed for Tauqeer to escape to Pakistan.
Sayeed also told the police that Tauqeer was hiding in India for many months after the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad.
CBI states that Tauqeer, is one of the main brains behind planning and execution of 26/7 blasts and is a close aide of Safdar Nagori, IM founder.
The DCB also found that Tauqeer had trained youths from city in Waghamon in Kerala and had also arranged for the stay of young men who planted the bombs in the city.
On 26 Jul 2008, a series of 21 bomb blasts rocked in Ahmedabad, within a span of 70 minutes. 56 people were killed and over 200 people were injured.
