Delhi: Policeman molests woman subordinate, held
New Delhi, Aug 4: Just days after a case of sexual harassment filed by a policewoman against her collegues came to light, a similar case has come up in the national capital, where a police sub-inspector was arrested for molesting a woman subordinate and showing her obscene MMS clips.
The arrested sub-inspector, identified as SI Mukesh Chabra, allegedly molested a woman assistant sub-inspector in the building which houses the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal and Rajouri Garden police station.
The woman, who had gone to office on Sunday, Aug 1 to finish some pending work, was reportedly asked by the accused to meet him.
When she went to him, Chabra took out his mobile phone and allegedly tried to show her some obscene MMS clips, to which she objected, a police officer said.
"As she objected, he allegedly molested her," the officer added.
After freeing herself, the woman rushed out and filed a complaint at the Rajouri Garden police station, leading to case being registered against Chabra under sections 354 (outraging the modesty of woman) and 509 (acts intended to intrude into the privacy of woman).
After an investigation was conducted into the incident, the accused was arrested.
