Kuwait asks RIM to block pornographic sites
Kuwait, Aug 3: Middle East country, Kuwait asked Research in Motion (RIM), maker of BlackBerry, to block pornographic sites.
The local newspaper, al-Jarida daily, reported that the Kuwait's communications ministry asked the RIM to to block pornographic sites. But the ministry did not suspend services like other Gulf states have threatened to do.
The report also told that RIM has given initial approval to block 3,000 porn sites. RIM also asked the ministry to give it until the end of 2010 to implement the block.
On Sunday, Aug 1 another Gulf Country, UAE, announced that it will suspend BlackBerry services from Oct 11, 2010 due to the lack of compliance with UAE telecommunications regulations.
