Madurai, Aug 2: Proving that women across all walks of life are targeted by sexual predators, a case of the sexual harassment has been filed by a policewoman against her cop colleagues.
In a petition at the Madras High Court bench in Madurai alleging sexual harassment by her colleagues, the woman has named a Special Branch CID Constable as well as a Superintendent of Police.
The complaintant, who is a Sub-Inspector at Manamadurai police station in Sivaganga district, has alleged that the CID Constable spoke to her in an indecent manner.
She added that when she took up the matter with the SP on Dec 21, 2009, he in turn asked her for sexual favours. She yet again complained to the SP on Apr 12, 2010 but no action was taken.
Shockingly, the victim of harassment was reportedly warned that she would be transferred to some other department on the orders of the SP.
The woman has also sent a copy of the writ petition, which is expected to come up for hearing on Monday, Aug 2 in the High Court, to the Director General of Police and IG (South Zone).
