One more arrested in Kerala lecturer attack case
Aluva, Aug 2: One more activist of the Popular Front of India, a Muslim radical outfit, has been arrested in connection with the attack on a college lecturer in Kerala.
The Special Investigation Team, probing the attack, arrested 38-year-old K M Ali from Mulavoor near Muvattupuzha on Sunday, Aug 1, in connection with the attack on TJ Joseph, the college lecturer whose right hand was chopped off on Jul 4, police said.
Ali was allegedly involved in the conspiracy to attack the lecturer, T J Joseph, police said. He had also taken part in the earlier attempts on the lecturer's life, Superintendent of Police P N Unnirajan said.
With this, the total number of arrests in the case has gone up to 14.
Professor Joseph's right hand was chopped off at Muvattupuzha by suspected activists of PFI for preparing a question paper which allegedly had derogatory references to Prophet Mohammed. He was returning with his family, when the incident took place.
