BJP & the Left to protest against price rise
New Delhi, Jul 29: With increase in the price rise the BJP and the Left have decided to hand over a memorandum to the President along with 10 crore signatures collected from common people over the last few months
The senior BJP leaders including LK Advani, Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj will march to Rashtrapati Bhawan against the ruling government for not tackling the inflation. While the Left have planned to stage a sit-in inside the parliament.
CPI's D Raja and CPIM's Basudeb Acharia said they will hold the sit-in inside Parliament as they do not want to hold up the proceedings of the House.
The Left parties would soon chalk out their future course of action on how to take on the government on price rise.
On Wednesday, Jul 28 after discussion during the lunch break, the Lok Sabha Speaker rejected the Opposition's demand for a vote on the price rise issue and adjourned the House for the day.
With this, the parliament was rocked by more disruption as a united Opposition targeted firmly on the UPA government over rising prices and also UPA refusing to say yes to a vote.
