CBI accused of leaking Shah's chargesheet to media
New Delhi, Jul 27: Aspersions against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continue to fly. After being called the hand-tool of the UPA government, Amit Shah's legal aide and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani on Tuesday, Jul 27 agency of leaking chargesheet to the media.
Jethmalani, who is providing legal assistance to Shah, who has been arrested by the CBI in connection with the 2005 Shorabuddin fake encounter case.
"The accused does not have the chargesheet but the media has it. This is the CBI's design," the eminent and controversial criminal lawyer said.
Saying that excerpts of the chargesheet were being carried in media reports while Shah is yet to receive a copy, Jethmalani yet again brought up the allegation that CBI was being misused.
"I condemn it... CBI is holding press conferences," he added.
