W Bengal govt announces Rs 1 subsidy on diesel
Kolkata, Jul 26: West Bengal government decided to provide subsidy of Rs 110 crore on diesel and Rs 50 crore on kerosene.
West Bengal Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta on Monday, Jul 26 announced that state government will provide subsidy to bus, minibus and taxi operators in the state which will be effective from Sunday, Aug 1, 2010.
Government has calculated that buses and minibuses each consumed 50 litres of diesel and taxis 20 litres daily.
He told that the government will deposit the subsidy in the bank accounts of the bus, minibus and taxi operators each month.
The Bengal Finance Minister also told that state government will reduce the price of kerosene which will be announced later.
