Kingfisher flight averts major mid-air disaster
Kochi, Jul 25: Kingfisher flight had fortunately escaped the severe mishap when fire and smoke broke out in the cargo, which was about to be loaded into the flight on Jul 25.
The flight IT-2482, destined to Chennai, was about to depart from Kochi International Airport when the fire broke out.
The preliminary investigation had revealed that a courier bag delivered by Blue Dart contained boric acid and some chemical liquid into 200 ml bottles.
It was alleged the it was a clear security lapse of cargo screeners.
A major mid-air disaster was averted as the cargo was not loaded into the flight when one of the courier baggage burst.
However, passengers and Kingfisher staffs had remained unharmed.
