Boy packs bomb in schoolbag
Behrampore (West Bengal), Jul 24: A boy carried a bomb to school in order to threaten a senior after he was beaten up on Friday, Jul 23 in Murshidabad.
A 14-year-old Manirul Sheikh (name changed) bought the bomb for Rs 100 from his village Kandi.
Police reportedly said Manirul fought with Tapesh Ghosh (name changed) on their way home from school. Manirul asked his friends about the Tapesh presence around the school campus and told that he has a bomb in his schoolbag to “blow up" Tapesh.
Later, Manirul"s classmates informed life science teacher Dhananjoy Mondal about the bomb.
“I took Manirul to a classroom and fetched a bucket of water. I asked the other students to leave the room and told Manirul to hand the bomb over to me. He took the bomb out of his bag and gave it to me. I immediately put it into the water," Mondal said.
The boy was kept in staff room till the police arrived and took him to custody.“We are investigating how such a young boy could get a bomb so easily," said B.L. Meena, the district superintendent of police.
