Suspected Maoists abduct four persons in Bihar

Rohtas (Bihar), July 23 (ANI): Suspected Maoists abducted four villagers including three persons of the same family from Tendua village in Bihar's Rohtas District on Thursday.

The villagers said a group of Maoist rebels arrived in the village around midnight and barged into the house of Rajeshwar Singh.

The ultras took away Singh, along with his son, Arvind, and nephew, Virendra.

They also abducted another villager named Harendra.

"The ultras barged into my house and took away my father, brother and others with them. They also assaulted me and my mother," said Anju, Rajeshwar Singh's daughter.

The locals, however, said one of the alleged Maoist abductors is a relative of Rajeshwar Singh and their families have had a land dispute for a long time.

Security forces in the region have been alerted and investigations are on in the incident.

"We are keeping a tight vigil on all the escape routes. We are investigating the matter thoroughly," said Vikas Vaibhav, Superintendent of Police of Rohtas District. (ANI)
