Olive Telecom launches India's 1st 3G tablet

New Delhi, Jul 23: Wireless devices maker Olive Telecom has announced the launch of India"s first 3G tablet, OlivePad VT-100, priced at about Rs 25,000.

The Olive Pad will runs on Google's Android OS and supports 3.5G HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The 7" touchscreen device comes with dual cameras (a 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera) and mini-USB port.

"With this launch, we are bringing consumers to experience cutting edge technology. The Olive Pad is aimed at today's technology savvy generation who want easy on the move connectivity," Olive telecom Chairman, Arun Khanna said.

"The tablet can be used to browse the Internet, multimedia playback, messaging, gaming, turn-by-turn directions, reading e-books and also to watch television. It will be available across India by August," latter he added.

The company expects to sell around 1 lakh units in the first 6 months of its commercial launch. The company has entered into an agreement with electronics shop Croma centres for selling the notepad.
