Himachal HC to summon Kachroo case accused

Shimla, Jul 23: The Himachal Pradesh High Court brought notice to the state for the four accused in the ragging case of Aman Kachroo on Thursday, Jul 23.

According to Indian Express report,the matter was taken up by justice Dev Darshan Sud on the basis of media reports and handed to the Kangra Superintendent of Police and brought the notices on the accused.

“From the record, I (Justice Sood) find that the case is fixed for further proceedings before the learned Fast Track Court, Kangra on Jul 23. List the case on Jul 24 (for next hearing). A certified copy of this order be given to learned Advocate General forthwith," the court ordered.

The case will be heard on Jul 24.

Aman Satya Kachroo, 19, was a first year MBBS student at Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College. He died after he was allegedly subjected to ragging and tortured by four of his seniors in March 2008.
