CBI turns down Amit Shah's request for time
New Delhi, Jul 23: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has turned down Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah's request seeking more time to appear before it.
On Friday, Jul 23, Shah, who was summoned in connection with the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, sought more time to appear before the agency.
The CBI had issued a second summon after Shah failed to appear before the probe agency on Thursday, Jul 22, as required of him as per the first summon.
His response to the second summon was also not completely satisfactory as he sent his lawyers to the CBI office to seek a questionnaire. This request was also turned down.
“They (CBI) said that they will not provide the questionnaire. I will talk to Amitji about the development and then decide on the way forward," Shah's lawyer said.
